Artist's Description
In Plato's book "The Symposium",
Agathon, Socrates and Aristophanes discuss the nature of love and Eros.
Aristophanes explains that in the beginning humans looked like a sphere, they had 4 arms and 4 legs, one-half male and the other half female.
For Zeus, the sphere people became too powerful, and he divided them. Since then, they walk around the earth quite confused, on 2 legs, with only one sex and in constant search of the lost second, which once united them.
Their longing for the lost part was so great that the new beings spent their whole lives
searching for their other half. Some were lucky.........
